Update on Personal Auto Transportation Network Platform Exclusion

Western National is updating its Personal Auto Public or Livery Conveyance Exclusion language on new and renewal business, effective March 1, 2019. The new endorsement, which will be part of all Personal Auto policies, clarifies that the Public or Livery Conveyance Exclusion applies when a vehicle is being used by any “insured” who is logged into a “transportation network platform” as a driver, whether or not a passenger is “occupying” the vehicle.

Please note that this is not a change in coverage. The clarifying language is intended to help policyholders understand the exclusion and avoid coverage gaps by purchasing supplemental insurance that provides coverage for all phases of transportation network platform operation.

You can click here to view the Public or Livery Conveyance Exclusion Endorsement, and you can click here to view the Advisory Notice to Policyholders.

If you have any questions, please contact your Personal Lines Underwriting Team or your Regional Agency Manager.
