Western National South Dakota Homeowner Program Revisions, eff. 5/1/2020
We recently completed a regular review of Western National’s Homeowner insurance program. Results during the recent evaluation period indicate that a rate increase is necessary. Changes to our rates will vary based on territory (click here to view territory map) performance:
- Central and Western Territories: +24.9%
- Eastern Territories: +3.9%
In addition to our base rate changes, we will introduce rating for exterior siding and roofing. The rate will reflect the susceptibility or resistance to damage of different exterior surfaces. Individual policy premium will vary based on the specific characteristics of the insured exposure.
We understand that customers with increasing premium (such as those taken in the central and western part of the state) may choose to shop for a new insurer. If you need assistance identifying those customers so you may proactively work to retain them within your agency, please contact your Personal Lines Underwriter or Regional Agency Manager.
