Update to Western National’s Homeowner Program – Adding Watercraft Liability

We recently informed you via an Agency Bulletin on June 25, 2020, that coverage for bodily injury or property damage resulting from an owned watercraft powered by one or more outboard motors is being limited to a combined maximum horsepower of 75 for all motors. Previously, the Homeowner policy included coverage for owned watercraft powered by one or more outboard motors, with no horsepower limitation. Click here review the June 25 bulletin..

Now that Homeowner renewals have begun to generate for 9/1/2020 policies (and 35 days prior to expiration date for policies renewing after 9/1), the optional watercraft liability coverage endorsement for watercraft powered by outboard motors totaling more than 75 horsepower may be added. We have created a short guide that will help walk through the steps to quote and add this coverage. Click here for the user guide.

If we are aware that a customer owns a watercraft with an outboard motor and are able to determine that the horsepower is over 75 from the description on file, we will add the liability coverage. If we are unable to determine the horsepower, we will contact you so you may reach out to the policyholder and add the coverage if needed.

If you have any questions, please contact your Personal Lines Underwriter or your Regional Agency Manager.

Thank you for your continued partnership with Western National.
