Upcoming Umialik Insurance Home Rate Revision & Enhancements to the Personal Lines Quoting Process
We have recently completed a review of Umialik’s Select Home and Signature Home program. Overall, Select Home and Signature Home will see a rate reduction of 5.6%. This rate revision will be effective December 1, 2023 for new business and January 16, 2024 for renewals. The exact impact of this reduction will vary based on the specific characteristics of the insured exposure.
Enhancements to Personal Lines Quote Process
After receiving feedback from our agency partners on the personal lines quoting process in ProducerEngage, we are excited to announce that we have implemented several enhancements to provide our agents with more information, options, and to improve the efficiency of quoting Umialik personal lines policies. Specifically, these enhancements, which are detailed below, will reduce the number of referrals to underwriting during the quoting process.
Road & Trail and Watercraft
To make it even easier to quote Road & Trail and Watercraft policies, the system will now pull information from an auto quote, including driving history, into a Road & Trail or Watercraft quote.
We have removed the underwriting requirement for a safety course for youthful operators. While the safety course discount is still available, it is not required to write the policy.
Home
We are removing the requirement of a monitored alarm on homes over $1 million in Coverage A. This adjustment to underwriting requirements will allow more properties to qualify for Umialik’s Home products.
All Lines
For increased transparency and time savings, we have added eligibility messaging to several underwriting questions.
