You can find information on our new login process for AgentsOnline, as well as information on how to update your comparative rater credentials here.

Signature Auto is an updated version of our current Penalty-Free auto product. Select Auto is a new auto product that is merit-based with rating for violations and losses.
Moving violations and chargeable losses are surchargeable. The system will indicate which violations and losses will be surcharged. Contact your underwriter with any questions.
No losses or violations will be surcharged in Signature Auto. All policies in Signature contain the Penalty-Free Promise®.
We have instituted multi-variate rating. We are not able to determine the flat surcharge percentage.
Incident validation rules indicate if the manually entered incident is a duplicate of an incident returned via the vendor report. If a duplicate is not found, correct the manually entered incident to match the vendor report. When the quote is re-rated, the system will mark the incident as a duplicate.
For each loss and violation, there is a field labeled Surcharge Applied that tells the agent when the incident is being surcharged.
The incident will not be surcharged on the policy.
The system will add incidents automatically from the MVR, CLUE, and EARS reports. However, these reports will not run until you are ready to submit the policy. To obtain the most accurate quote, you must manually enter incidents during the quoting process.
We have instituted multi-variate rating. The percentage for a specific discount will not be available, but the declarations page will clearly show which discounts apply.
This discount is variable.
No. This discount is only available for Signature Auto and Select Auto.
Yes. We have a new Prior Carrier discount that provides a discount based on the length of time with their current carrier, up to ten years. This discount applies only to new policies.
Our Select Auto program will individually price an account based on exposure. Signature Auto is a pooling program which spreads the exposure amongst the group. Individuals may pay more for a guaranteed Penalty-Free Promise®.
These discounts follow the same rules as the current policy. Going forward, we will not have to assign each vehicle for the insured to receive the Defensive Driving Discount. Rating will apply the discount to all vehicles, if appropriate. As with all new business, insureds requesting Good Student Discount will need to provide documentation, and then resubmit documentation at the ages of 19 and 20. For the Defensive Driving Discount, documentation will be required for new business and every 3 years thereafter.
Our Select Auto, program will individually price an account based on exposure. Signature Auto is a pooling program which spreads the exposure amongst the group. Individuals may pay more for a guaranteed Penalty-Free Promise®.
The Advance Quote discount applies for as little as a day in advance of the policy effective date and maxes out at 15 days in advance of the policy effective date.
We are choosing not to automatically rewrite existing policies to allow the insureds to select which product is best suited to them. Insureds may choose to stay with their existing policy or move to one of the new products.
You can create a new quote for any policyholder at any time. For renewals, you will have a shell quote available for you to quote a new application the day the renewal generates. You may also choose to create a new quote from scratch if an existing client is interested in Signature Auto or Select Auto outside of the renewal period.
Premium impact will be based on many factors, most importantly driving incidents during the experience period. Each individual policy may be impacted differently.
Nothing. The client simply pays the renewal premium for the existing policy and it will renew accordingly.
The new system will clearly note when a policy is ineligible for a program on the Side-by-Side quote screen.
Each quote will return a premium for both the Select Auto and Signature Auto programs. The system will clearly note which program a risk qualifies for. If your customer qualifies for both, they can choose the program they prefer to purchase based on their policy needs.
We allow splitting of households for parents and children. Different policies for parents and children will require different accounts. We do not allow splitting of household for spouses.
Eligibility requirements for our new penalty-free program, Signature Auto, have changed. Over time, our auto book of business has been adversely impacted due to the loss experience and we have had to increase premiums. Many clean drivers have sought more competitive rates elsewhere. The new eligibility requirements will make us more attractive to drivers without driving incidents and will allow us to maintain competitive rates for these drivers going forward. Insureds in our existing penalty-free program who do not qualify for Signature Auto can continue to renew their existing policy to continue receiving a guaranteed surcharge free rate or move to Select Auto.
Existing policyholders are not required to move to Signature Auto or Select Auto. They may continue to renew their existing policy.
Yes. Coverage for transportation network drivers is available in Select Auto. Details are available in The Advisor.
Subject to underwriting approval, delivery drivers may be allowed in the Select Auto program. We will only consider cases where the vehicle is being used strictly for a single employer for food delivery and is not held out for use by the public. For example, pizza delivery would be allowed. Delivery services such as UberEats and Doordash would not be allowed.
For Minnesota agencies quotes are still available for issuance in the old system and will be honored until March 15, 2022.
The rates will be displayed for both programs including for policies that are ineligible. The system will clearly note when a policy is ineligible.
Yes. We know this was a pain point for agents, so with Signature Auto and Select Auto, you will have this functionality.
Typically, underwriters respond within the same business day. You can always call or email your underwriter if you have a need for an immediate response.
Yes. You will pick one product to refer and enter the request for approval for both products in the notes.
Yes. There will be a message clearly displayed on the Quote Page under each product’s premium if the insured doesn’t meet eligibility guidelines for that product.
Yes. You will be able to print I.D. cards immediately when the policy is issued. You can print I.D. cards for endorsement transactions from AgentsOnline within a few minutes of submission.
We are adding e-signature as a future enhancement.
For better service we ask you to email pc.claims@wnins.com. The name and phone number of the adjuster is available on the claims screen, and you can always call the adjuster on the phone!

The driver assignment page in the system has the following guidelines to help complete assignments:

Driver Assignment Guidelines

  • All drivers must be assigned to a vehicle
  • Each driver can only be assigned once regardless of the number of vehicles
  • Vehicles driven to work or used in business must have a primary operator
  • Occasional drivers can be listed on any vehicle by using the drop down menu
  • Additional vehicles will be rated as excess vehicles

The rates will be displayed for both programs including for policies that are ineligible. The system will clearly note when a policy is ineligible.

In addition, there will be rules that will display if you enter certain situations incorrectly:

  • Youthful operators cannot be assigned to the same vehicle unless all vehicles have a youthful operator. This will only show when there are multiple youthful operators on a policy.
  • Drivers with vehicles furnished and available for their regular use will not be assigned to a vehicle if the number of vehicles is less than the number of drivers.
  • Youthful drivers away at school will be listed as “Student Away” in the drop down for driver assignment.

Behind the scenes, the system will determine the rated driver and display which driver is being rated.

Currently, you can use the left-hand navigation to review prior screens. To navigate forward, you must use the NEXT button on the page. This functionality will be enhanced soon.
Currently you can use the “endorse a policy” button, but you will need to know the policy number. If you don’t have the policy number available, it will be easiest to search by name.
When you are ready to bind the coverage, you will select Run Validation. Credit-based insurance score and vehicle history scoring are run at the initial quote. You will have the opportunity to validate the information obtained from all reports, prior to submission.
There will not be a charge to the agency, but we do track the cost of reports per issued policy and will be in touch if there are any concerns.
Yes, the replacement cost estimator will have some information pre-filled based off the address. Information will need to be reviewed and validated. Any changes made on the estimator will download to the Coverage page. Make changes only on the RCE and not on the Coverage page.
10% of Coverage A will default to the Coverage B limit. Values of additional structures on premise should be entered as a total value in the Coverage B limit. Click on the View/Edit button to list all structures and its value.
This is a report that will include information for risk evaluation. Satellite views and/or interior views of the home and surrounding property can be available. Other information the report may include: fire protection, roof age, home exterior material, and flood zone category.
No, Current Western National home policyholders will have their policy converted to a Signature Home policy at renewal when we start the home conversion process in 2024. If the policy to be converted is a HO1 or HO2 form, they will be non renewed. It is possible these may qualify and be written to a HO3 form or a Dwelling Fire Form 3.
No, a supporting Western National auto policy will be required.
No, all drivers of Road & Trail vehicles or watercraft must be listed even if they have no drivers license or not a member of the household. Youthfuls must have safety driving certifications. Discounts are applied to anyone with a Safety certification.
Boats and watercraft will be non renewed. A new Road & Trail policy and/or Watercraft policy will need to be written.

Important Information Related to Agency Reporting

  • Reports will not include new policy information.
  • The agency sweep report, which was previously emailed, will now be available to you via AgentsOnline.

Important Information Regarding Commissions and Billing for Signature Auto and Select Auto

  • Signature Auto and Select Auto policies will be on a separate commission statement from other policy types.
  • New Business and Renewal commission will be paid based on the issue date or the transaction effective date, whichever is greater. Policy change is paid in the month the change was issued.
  • Commission will be paid when the policy renewal is effective regardless of payment.
  • Monthly commission email advising of the commission amount to be direct deposited will not be sent for new auto policy commission statements.
  • For agencies with multiple accounting contacts, commission statements will temporarily be emailed to only one of the accounting contacts.
  • The due date on policyholder installment notices has been extended from 18 days to 25 days.
  • Notice of intent to cancel will be sent 5 days after the installment due date.
  • Payments must be received in our office or paid online by the due date.
  • Down payment is required on all new policies. Electronic payments are required; checks will no longer be accepted.
  • The pay plan for AutoPay annual policies has been expanded to include semi-annual and quarterly.
  • When monthly EFT policies in our existing Penalty Free Promise program are canceled and rewritten into our new Signature/Select auto program, the insured will have the last installment due for the canceled policy as well as the required down payment for the new policy. This is due to our existing program which bills EFT a month behind and our new system requiring an initial down payment. This double payment will only occur at the initial start of the new policy and will then bill on time, monthly, after the down payment is received. In our new program, EFT will no longer bill a month behind.
