Trainee Program Spotlight

Western National offers comprehensive, three-phased trainee programs in both claims and underwriting.

  • Phase One: Trainees build core knowledge of the insurance industry and company operations while collaborating with peers to gain cross-functional insight.
  • Phase Two: Trainees focus on technical training specific to their track. claims trainees learn to investigate and evaluate claims, while underwriting trainees analyze business accounts and underwriting decisions. In both tracks, trainees develop critical skills in negotiation and customer service and observe experienced professionals in real-world settings.
  • Phase Three: Trainees apply what they have learned by taking on real responsibilities. Claims trainees begin handling claims, while underwriting trainees manage business accounts, and all trainees continue to receive guidance, training, and support from managers and mentors.

Culture Feature

This February, our offices gathered in person and virtually for our 2026 All Employee Meeting. We welcomed Colonel Nicole Malachowski, USAF (Ret.), a former United States Air Force Officer, as our keynote speaker this year. Our offices also took the time to share in important updates and celebrate the previous year's successes.

A special thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success.
