To help keep a focus on wellbeing while employees are working from home, we organized two virtual 5k runs/walks. Our first 5k celebrated May Day, and our second celebrated the Fourth of July. Employees from all our offices (Anchorage, Edina, and Seattle) laced up their shoes and got some fresh air while running or walking. Many employees submitted pictures to share with their co-workers. We also awarded prizes for categories such as best route scenery, fastest time, and best race day outfit. You can view some of the pictures below.
In June, our Scholarship Committee awarded the following eight students merit-based college scholarships worth $3,000 each for the upcoming fall term: Alison Benz (Wabasso, Minn.), Benjamin Cartford (Stacy, Minn.), Madelynn Dostal (Carlton, Minn.), Ellen Fricker (Brookfield, Wisc.), Lauren Hermann (Grantsburg, Wisc.), Jacob Loosen (Hartford, Wisc.), Madison Smith (Woodinville, Wash.), and Blayre Wisneski (Shakopee, Minn.).

The last four plus months of working from home hasn’t been easy, but our employees have done an excellent job of taking it in stride. To recognize their hard work, we sent a little care package to each of our employees earlier this summer. The care package included a backpack containing a Western National-branded facemask, snacks from local Minnesota companies and assorted goodies. We included a note thanking them for everything they are doing to serve our customers in this challenging time.
