Western National Participates in Fifth Year of Driving Away Hunger Program

In 2012, Western National introduced an annual commitment to donate one brand-new vehicle each year to VEAP, a non-profit social services organization serving the Minneapolis-area communities where many Western National employees work and live. This program, called Driving Away Hunger, enables VEAP to provide reliable transportation from its food shelf as well as rides for limited-income seniors and individuals with disabilities to medical appointments, grocery shopping trips, and visits to hospitals or nursing homes.

Western National continued its Driving Away Hunger partnership with VEAP this year by donating a new 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan. VEAP staff accepted this year’s vehicle in grand fashion, with a parade, a celebration with its volunteers, and a proclamation from the Mayor of the City of Edina, Minnesota recognizing the success of the Driving Away Hunger program.

We’re proud to support VEAP and look forward to the great work they’ll put this vehicle toward in support of those in need in our communities.
