Western National Announces Sale of Nevada General Insurance Company to Southlake Specialty Insurance Company
(Minneapolis, Minn.) Western National Mutual Insurance Company of Edina, Minn., has agreed to sell Nevada General Insurance Company to Southlake Specialty Insurance Company, targeting a closing date at the end of the first quarter of 2024. Nevada General Insurance Company was originally purchased by Western National Mutual in 2016 from Mutual of Enumclaw Insurance Company.
Southlake Specialty Insurance Company is part of the Southlake Financial Group, a Westlake, Texas, based group of national fronting insurance specialists covering the property-and-casualty market. The group writes business through two insurance companies – Southlake Specialty Insurance Company (non-admitted) and Westlake Specialty Insurance Company (admitted) – with eligibility covering 50 states. Products are sold under managing general agent placed programs with over $400 million written to date.
